Jesus Makes Life Make Sense
Perhaps it's me, but there seems to be too much crazy in our world. I find comfort in the Scriptures. I'm reminded that in the Creation account in the book of Genesis, as He created the heavens and the earth and the living things, He called them "good." But, when He came to the creation of man and woman, He called them "very good." They are very good because we are the only things of His Creation made in His image.
God did His creating by the power of His word. The logos (word) can mean “speech,” “principle,” or “thought.” The New Testament was written in Greek. In Greek philosophy, Logos also refers to a universal, divine reason or the mind of God. You and I were made from the mind of God!
"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-4,14 ESV).
This “crazy” is human entropy. “The growth of entropy is nothing other than the ubiquitous and familiar natural increase of disorder1.” As the world speeds towards entropy, we can find stability and purpose within Christ Jesus, our Creator and Prince of Peace2. With Him, we find purpose; we find that our lives make sense.
