Jesus is 24x7x365

Luke 13:12-14 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”

This passage of Scripture is fascinating. The religious leaders of that time had elevated the law of Moses above the God of Moses. They thought they were in charge. So, when the giver of the law stood before them, they attempted to put Mose above Him!

The rulers thought God didn’t work any longer, He was at rest, which is why they said Jesus [the very Son of God] could heal six days a week but not on the Sabbath; they wished to subjugate Jesus below the law of Moses. The six days were when Man could work.

Even today I hear people talk about God as if He doesn’t do anything, as if Jesus is a religion rather than a living person, as if Christians are a problem rather than deliverers of good news. Because of God’s great love, God acts, Jesus saves, Christians serve, even today, even on Saturdays and Sundays.
